Sunland LTD ADU Premium: The Ultimate Off-Grid Home on Wheels for Full-Time Living
Every year brings a handful of standout innovations in the caravanning world, but 2025 is proving to be exceptional, with so many advancements it’s hard to keep up. Among these, one set of ideas has truly taken our breath away: the Sunland LTD ADU Premium. This remarkable caravan is a culmination of brilliant ideas from Sunland’s engineers and designers, as well as the invaluable input from its users and brand ambassadors, Chris and Miriam of Aussie Destinations Unknown, who crave a full life on the road.

Balance Matters: Engineered for Life on the Road
Creating the LTD ADU Premium was a meticulous process, focusing on getting every detail right – from the precise placement of equipment to ensuring the correct center of gravity. The integration of the solar panels and battery system was carefully coordinated to work seamlessly together. This entire process had to uphold Sunland’s high standards while meeting the specific needs and desires of Miriam and Chris. Once the foundational elements were perfected, the team focused on upgrades, determining what was possible, what was needed, and what market innovations would deliver the desired outcome.
Chassis Evolution with a 20-Year Warranty
Sunland has been manufacturing its own chassis for over 15 years, and they back it with an impressive 20-year warranty. While traditionally, chassis components might be integrated from various lines, for the LTD basic, ADU Edition, and ADU Premium, everything was treated as new – a challenge that Sunland embraced and met successfully. The ADU Premium features a 4.45T-rated Sunland alloy/steel chassis.

Ensuite for Exercise & Smart Storage Solutions
Miriam and Chris live on the road full-time, so they understand the essentials for comfort and luxury. The spacious ensuite in the ADU Premium immediately stands out. Miriam revealed its purpose: it’s perfectly sized for her daily yoga routine, ensuring her fitness regimen continues regardless of the weather.
Another practical innovation that resonated with us is the dedicated broom cupboard. It’s a small detail, but anyone who’s had a broom “go for a walk” during transit will appreciate this thoughtful addition.
Movable Lights & Two-Way Doors
One of the delightful and innovative features is the movable lights. A strip along the bottom of the cupboards over the L-shaped seating houses lights that can be gently pulled off and repositioned anywhere along the strip as needed.
Adding to the convenience, the fridge/freezer in the ADU Premium features a two-way door, a new idea that’s gaining popularity. You can open the door from either the left or the right side, offering full access from both directions – a truly smile-generating invention! The internal Dometic 12V 216L compressor offers dual opening.

Kitchen Focus and Benchtop Innovation
While the design incorporates numerous new ideas, the focus on livability remains undiluted. The 23’6” length of the van significantly increases space. Though some of this was allocated to the ensuite, the kitchen bench and L-shape lounge are also longer, providing more cupboard space.
A standout kitchen innovation is the draining board, which is seamlessly incorporated into the huge benchtop rather than being an added-on component. There’s no visible cooktop because, like many caravanners today, Miriam opted for a mobile induction hotplate. This leaves an abundance of bench space, free from bulky cooktops or raised draining boards. Portable induction twin cooktops are an option.

Life’s Essentials & Dedicated Bike Storage
The bed height and the storage containers between the bed and wall initially caught attention, but the reasoning is clear: this is a full-time home. A full-time home demands storage for essentials like clothes for every season, and space for hobbies such as biking, yoga, snorkeling, and bushwalking, which are popular with many who live a full life on the road.
Miriam and Chris are avid cyclists with special bikes, requiring a secure and dedicated storage solution. Sunland met this need with a huge, lockable bike storage area at the front of the ADU Premium – a truly impressive feature.

Custom Power System
Chris shared details about the van’s power system, which left us “breathless”. It’s a massive system designed to provide ample power for their full-time home living. This new design is amazing, and while it adds weight, they have a vehicle capable of towing it. The ADU Premium is truly designed as a full-time home for an active couple who love travel and fitness. The electrical system includes 600Ah Enerdrive BTec Battery, is Starlink ready, features an Enerdrive 3000 ePro inverter, 6x 220W solar panels, and 2x MMPT 40 + DC2DC 40+. Optional electrical extensions include a second 2600W inverter, a second DC-DC charger, an additional 4x 220W solar panels (totaling 2.2kW array), and an extra 300Ah battery (totaling 900Ah).

The Sunland LTD ADU Premium truly embodies innovation, offering an unparalleled experience for those seeking a full life on the road.
