NOVA Bravo Signature Z Series: Compact Off-Grid Caravan with Starlink Connectivity

The NOVA team are no strangers to the Flinders, so when What’s Up Downunder extended another invitation to visit the iconic ranges for What’s Up Downunder Season 16, NOVA jumped at the chance, this time with Nicole Shaddock and her partner Grant sharing the wheel.

Their steed? Their very own compact 2025 Bravo Signature Z Series, comprising Aussie-made fibreglass NOVA Pro Plus walls including a one-piece roof, front and rear panel standard on all 2025 NOVA vans. The terrain provided NOVA opportunity to appraise its off-grid and off-road capabilities as well as the onboard 5G comms standard on all NOVA vans and the optional DishyDock, a 12V modem for Starlink–affording Nicole a real shot at work-travel living.

Smart Layouts for Compact Living

NOVA considers compact fuel-saving layouts vital to their range, and it’s exciting to see greater choice for 2025. This NOVA Bravo Signature Z Series features an all new 544-1C layout with a central door, 199L fridge-freezer, north-south bed and the cafe dinette seating option. That’s thanks to clever cabinet making in the ensuite, one of the great benefits to comprehensive in-house manufacturing capabilities. We really love how NOVA’s managed to fit in a washing machine in this 5.4m layout, a smart choice for off-grid travel. Not to forget thoughtful touches that allow you to personalise, with Nicole and Grant’s mustard coordinates really popping. Dust reduction helps to shelter the interiors from Flinders ‘finest’ – a smart move out here.

Robust Power Upgrades for Off-Road Adventures

NOVA offers ample pathways for off-road travel, and for the Bravo Signature Range that is via the Z Series off-road pack, fitted for our Flinders adventure. This includes Aussie-made independent trailing arm suspension with 12in brakes (ARV Titan-X coils seen here) on a single-axle. It also comes with a recessed Cruisemaster DO35 off-road coupling, more a-frame and a 50mm raiser for good clearance and easier hookup to more 4WDs.

Driving Nova Bravo through water off-grid capability

Off-grid niceties included in the Z Series pack are the toolbox with a generator slide-out and a 200Ah lithium battery. NOVA further upgraded this at Nicole’s request to 300Ah with a 600W solar array up top plus an upgraded 3000W inverter for powering the air-conditioner off-grid conservatively.

Stay Connected Anywhere with Starlink

During our Flinders voyage Nicole and Grant found plenty of opportunity to ‘play’ among the rocky terrain with the Z Series Bravo Signature on tow. But when it came time to answer emails and catch up with the grandkids, Grant and Nicole could simply pull out and set up the Starlink dish, hook it up externally via the weatherproof connection and fire up the DishyDock for energy efficient satellite internet. A perfect lifestyle blend allowing Grant and Nicole to stay in touch in some of Australia’s most beautiful destinations.
