This single-axle Aussie-made couples van with unique styling and a few space-saving tricks.

With 2023 releases starting weights measuring at 2200kg (av) Tare (2800kg ATM), with 200kg (av) empty on the ball, the Hike RV Atom 172 off-grider suits a broad array of 4WD vehicles making caravanning achievable for many. The 5.25m internal dimensions provide neat living comprising a leatherette L-shape lounge and wall-to-wall rear ensuite. This one is a stunner, too, with a distinct round mirror surrounded by drawers and open shelving next to an NCE wall-mounted washer. Two hatches, big windows, LED spots and strip lighting brighten the inside, with colour schemes varying from adaptable greys, warm and subtle coffee tones to the bold Midnight Series palette.

Benchtop Secrets Towards the front, you have an island bed with a pillow top mattress, individual robes, drawers and a padded bedhead. That’s made possible thanks to a few clever space-saving tricks within the kitchen, including fold-up and pull-out benchtop extensions. There’s a mixer tap and filtered water at the sink. A four-burner (three gas, one electric) gas top and grille facilitate cooking. A 188L three-way fridge is plumbed to one of two gas cylinders upfront, allowing excellent off-grid capabilities from the 340W solar array. Off-Grid & Off-Road Fitted with Aussie-made independent coil suspension and a 2-inch raiser, the Hike RV Atom rides high, with loads of checker-plate, electric brakes and a DO35 coupling for articulation on variable dirt tracks.

The chassis accommodates external battery boxes for two 105Ah AGM but the BMPRO power system is lithium compatible with lithium power available optionally.
