First look! We check out the X-Series X-Play toy hauler unveiled at Tough Tested 2024
No doubt about it, our Tough Tested programme elicits fine innovation among our daring off-road cohort–and our 2024 series is no exception, judging by this beauty wired to What’s Up Downunder HQs by Parable Productions designer and photographer David Cossigny.
Our first scoop? The X-Play, the inaugural prerelease from X-Series–part toy hauler, part family van equipped with this cool porch/ramp and fitted with Cruisemaster suspension.
Cool Convertible Space
If you enjoy a variety of adventures, especially if you’re one who likes to holiday with the family one weekend and go fishing with mates the next, the X-Play offers plenty. An east-west double bed rides up front with triple singles towards the back.
Teamed with a table, two single beds double as lounges during the day, can convert either to a second shared berth or fold up entirely to make room for a dirt bike or two or even a Quad bike.
Camp Comforts
Although predominantly sleeping quarters indoors, the X-Play provides a few nice conveniences including the compact fridge, a small benchtop for charging devices and a combination shower-toilet ensuite. In this full-height hauler, you’ll find storage in the overhead lockers and drawers underneath the double-berth bed.
Awesome Airflow
As the weather was pleasing, our crews were keen to open up the X-Play and set up the rear porch during the Tough Tested soiree. For times where you have rear enclosed, the X-Play features a large skylight, fan and two doors to catch those beachy breezes.
