Roy Wyss discusses the final checks needed to ensure a safe journey.
Check the caravan Tyre pressure and look for tyre wear. If there are any uneven signs, it could indicate wheel alignment, wheel balance or over/ under inflated issues. This is also the time to check the tightness of any other items attached like bicycle racks. Before you attach the caravan, it is a good time to check the Brake away operation. You do this by pulling the pin and checking that the brakes are activated. Refit the pin properly to avoid excessive power loss from the battery. When connecting the caravan to the car, it is advisable to have someone to help and guide you. After aligning both the car and the caravan, you need to use the jockey wheel to lower the connection to the vehicle. At this point lock the connection and double check the lock.
